Ceramic Coating

Why choose Bluegator for ceramic Coating

Cerakote Products

BlueGator proudly uses Cerakote Rapid Ceramic and Cerakote Professional Ceramic Aircraft coatings. Both surpass Boeing’s BSS7432‍ ‍regulations standards and testing.

UV Protection

At altitudes above 5,000 ft, UV sun rays are significantly more intense. Ceramic coating your aircraft prevents the oxidation and chalking that over time, will diminish and destroy the paint.

Easier Cleaning

Creating a hydrophobic on the plane’s surface means soot, bugs, and environmental pollutants wipe off with minimal effort. This a game changer for high-traffic operations as it reduces cleaning expenses.

less Parasitic drag

Parasite drag is the air resistance caused by an aircraft’s shape and surface roughness while flying. Ceramic coating lowers it, adding range and cruise speed while decreasing fuel consumption.

Higher Resale Valuation

Brokers consistently cite ceramic coating as a significant factor in appraising private aircraft. Professional Ceramic Coating can add value while making the plane more marketable.

Weather Protection

Shield your airframe from the blistering heat and humidity in Jacksonville. Cerakote Rapid ceramic coating lasts up to 6 months with Cerakote Pro Aircraft lasting up to 5 years.

Ceramic Coating Process

Ceramic coating preserves your aircraft’s exterior finish for an extended period. BlueGator offers two services depending on the clients’ needs. Please note that for the professional application, it not only requires proper preparation, but also controlled conditions. Advanced scheduling is necessary for optimal results

Cerakote Rapid

  • Aircraft exterior is thoroughly cleaned and degreased to remove all bugs, soot, and dirt

  • Painted/unpainted metal skins, fairings, and other surfaces are completely dried and cool before starting

  • Rapid Coating is applied in a 2ft by 2ft section so the spray does not dry out before process is complete

  • A microfiber towel is used to spread the coating evenly across the area, then another to buff until dry and slick

  • The process is repeated until the entire exterior is coated

  • Cerakote Rapid coating will last up to 6 months or 30 washes

Cerakote Professional

  • Aircraft exterior is thoroughly washed, decontaminated, and polished to remove old wax, grime, and oxidation

  • The prepped surface is sprayed with a 70% isopropyl alcohol and wiped clean to remove any leftover polish or oils

  • The coating is applied in sections using a crosshatch motion, with the coating overlapped 50% from top-to-bottom and side-to-side to secure complete coverage

  • The coating sits for 1 to 3 minutes (up to 5 minutes depending on temperature and humidity) until it sweats and form tiny beads, indicating it has flashed

  • Sections are then leveled and buffed using high-quality clean microfiber towels to a deep, high-gloss shine

  • The process is repeated until the entire exterior is coated

  • Aircraft is kept away from moisture for a minimum of 2 hours at temperatures above 65°F / 18°C

  • Ceramic coating must cure completely for 24 hours before the aircraft is cleared for flight.

  • Cerakote Professional will last up to 5 years or 200 washes.
